Roses in Winter

Made some roses for Sweet Celebrations Wedding Cakes today...

And here's a close up

All you need to make these are the Stampin Up Ornament and 1 1/4 circle punches, yeap thats it!

Punch out 1 circle and 10 ornaments

( sorry not sure why the pic is sideways!)

Curl them to give them some shape. Some tight and some just slightly curled

Start to layer them on your circle base Use 4 for your bottom layer with the 'petals' that have been the least curled

Next you layer 3 of the tighter petals, I suggest off setting the petals so they are not perfectly lined up.

Then you finish the center off with the last and tightest rolled petals to get this flower!

You can use more petals for a fuller flower I've tried 6 at the bottom, next layer 4, next 3 and finish with 3 at center.

Stay tuned to see what Sweet Celebrations Wedding Cakes did with these roses :) Pics to follow!!

Waiting for Flowers!

March 1 came in like a lamb here! It was a beautiful day and made me think of spring and flowers. I am sooo ready for that season!!! Today I made some flowers just to tied me over until the real ones come!

The flower heads are made with the Flower Daisies die #2 and the Boho Blssoms punch just layer them largest to smallest. The base of the flower is the 1 3/4 scallop circle double punched and the stem is just a section of paper rolled up to make a skinny tube.
